Website Marketing Manager – Fixed Term Contract

Are you a digital‑first marketer with a passion for user experience, data‑driven optimisation and high‑performing websites? We are seeking a Website Marketing Manager for a 12 month fixed term contract to lead the design, development and continuous optimisation of the VTCT Skills digital estate, ensuring our websites deliver exceptional user journeys and support organisational growth.

VTCT Skills (the working name of Vocational Training Charitable Trust) is a market-leading specialist vocational and technical Awarding Organisation. We offer a comprehensive range of qualifications, assessments and services in 17 sectors, including Hairdressing, Beauty, Hospitality, Care, Logistics and Early Years. Working closely with employers and training providers, our ranges are backed by industry and trusted around the world. With over 3,000 training locations, we help over 120,000 learners achieve professional skills that transform their lives, every year.

Principal Responsibilities include

  • Design, develop and deliver high‑quality website content and user journeys across VTCT Skills’ digital estate.
  • Lead website design and development, implementing new pages and content aligned to corporate strategy.
  • Champion best practice in user experience, SEO, accessibility and content design.
  • Develop and implement testing strategies to optimise usability, engagement and conversion.
  • Ensure all website content meets standards of accuracy, compliance (including CMA), editorial quality and consistency.
  • Work closely with ICT to maximise technical developments across the digital estate.
  • Track, analyse and report on website performance, developing KPIs and improving analytics capability.
  • Implement a structured programme of content updates, audits and continuous improvement.
  • Understand and respond to the needs of different audience types through targeted content planning.
  • Collaborate with marketing colleagues to support campaigns, forecasting and budget planning

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience optimising user journeys across complex digital estates.
  • Strong experience of content management systems (Drupal or similar enterprise CMS).
  • Proven expertise in UX, SEO, accessibility, web and mobile writing and editorial best practice.
  • Experience using Google Analytics, Tag Manager and other analytics platforms.
  • Strong technical understanding of HTML, CSS and website optimisation principles.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple workstreams.
  • Degree‑level education or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in digital or website marketing roles.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of the vocational education and awarding body sector.
  • Experience using HubSpot or similar marketing automation platforms.
  • Google Ads and Analytics certifications.
  • Experience of A/B testing and multivariate testing methodologies.
  • CIM, IPA or equivalent professional marketing qualification.
  • Knowledge of AI‑driven search and discovery.
