Learners from across the region competed in 25 competitions, representing Sandwell College, North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College, Loughborough College and Halesowen College.
The event delivered an incredible turnout, with competitors demonstrating technical excellence, creativity and professionalism well beyond expectations. Judges and attendees alike commented on the exceptionally high standard across all categories, a standard that continues to rise year after year.
What made the event even more remarkable was the fact that many of the learners are just one year into their training. Their achievements, confidence and attention to detail left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
The atmosphere throughout the day was one of encouragement and celebration. Loud cheers of congratulations echoed around the venue as students supported one another, highlighting the strong sense of community within the sector. The commitment of the competitors was matched by the dedication of their tutors, whose guidance and support was clearly reflected in the quality of work on display.
Jody Jones, Key Account Manager – Hair & Beauty said; “The turnout at this year’s regional heat was absolutely phenomenal. Every year I think the standard can’t possibly get any higher and every year it does. To see learners, many of whom are only a year into their training, producing work of this quality is truly inspiring. I left feeling completely in awe of their achievements.”
The AHT regional heat at Sandwell College not only showcased the next generation of hairdressing talent but also reinforced the strength of further education and training across the region.
Kate Smith, Senior Key Account Manager said; “VTCT Skills are proud to sponsor this event, providing judges for all regional and the national finals. It’s great to see so many VTCT Skills centres getting involved and hope to see more in the future.”
