VTCT Skills and the Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration and create new international opportunities for learners and professionals in India’s hair, beauty and wellness sector.
The partnership will explore the alignment of Indian qualifications with UK standards and the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF), alongside the development of Centres of Excellence, professional development opportunities, knowledge exchange and research.
The MoU also aims to support pathways for Indian learners to gain internationally recognised qualifications and credentials, helping to strengthen opportunities for career progression both in India and overseas.
Alan Woods OBE, Chief Executive at VTCT Skills, said:
“The acquisition of new skills for both existing qualified professionals and new learners through recognised international qualifications based upon new techniques, research and cooperation is a fundamental element of what we are trying to achieve.”
The agreement builds on VTCT Skills’ growing presence in India and its commitment to working with international partners to strengthen skills, raise standards and transform lives through global career opportunities.
Monica Bahl, CEO of B&WSSC, said the partnership would help create pathways for Indian trainees and students, including through the mapping of qualifications against UK standards and NSQF levels.
The collaboration represents another step towards strengthening links between the UK and Indian skills sectors and supporting the development of a highly skilled beauty and wellness workforce.
