Mark is an experienced education leader and chartered professional with extensive qualifications in construction, facilities management and surveying. He holds a BSc in Building, an MSc in Facilities Management, and a Diploma in Building Surveying, alongside a Certificate in Education and a wide range of professional credentials. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and several other leading professional bodies.
His career spans teaching and senior leadership roles across colleges in Wales and England, including Lecturer, Head of Department, Dean of Faculty and Campus Principal. In 1999, he was appointed by the Queen’s Privy Council as one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors (HMI) for Education and Training in Wales. He became Principal of Neath Port Talbot College in 2004 and was appointed Group Chief Executive in 2013.
Mark also plays a significant role in national and regional leadership. He serves as Chair of the Wales Negotiating Committee for Further Education and the 14–19 Network, and contributes to key public service and community leadership groups. In addition, he is a Director of several companies within the NPTC Group of Colleges, including LSI Portsmouth.
