As part of VTCT Skills’ presence at Professional Beauty Mumbai, Jody Jones, Key Account Manager – Hair and Beauty at VTCT Skills, was proud to take on the role of judge at Skillathon, hosted by LTA School of Beauty.
The competition brought together talented beauty students to showcase their technical skills, creativity and attention to detail across a range of practical challenges.
As a UK awarding organisation committed to quality and professional standards, VTCT Skills was delighted to support the event and recognise the achievements of the next generation of beauty professionals.
Commenting on the experience, Jody Jones said:
“It was a real honour to be invited to join the jury for the Skillathon. It is always inspiring to see such passionate, talented, and courageous students step forward to showcase their skills and open themselves up to valuable feedback that will help them grow and develop.
The standard of work presented this year was truly impressive. It was evident that every student is highly motivated and dedicated to their craft and is benefiting from the high-quality education and support provided by their chosen academy.
Every competitor produced beautiful work and should be incredibly proud of their achievements. Congratulations to all who took part, and an extra special well done to the winners.
The LTA team were exceptionally welcoming and hospitable throughout the event. Thank you for having me. It was an absolute pleasure to be involved.”
For those building a career in beauty, recognition through competitions such as Skillathon can be a significant milestone. Being recognised for technical excellence provides competitors with an opportunity to showcase their abilities to employers, clients and the wider industry, whilst also celebrating the dedication and development that goes into becoming a skilled professional.
VTCT Skills’ involvement in Skillathon forms part of its wider engagement with the Indian hair, beauty and wellness sector. During Professional Beauty Mumbai, the VTCT Skills team met with existing partners, prospective centres and industry professionals, strengthening relationships and exploring opportunities to support skills development across India.
